 Forefront Standalone Product Licensing

The following Forefront products are offered on a subscription bases:

  • Microsoft Forefront Client Security

    Malware protection for business desktops, laptops and server operating systems that's easier to manage and control.

  • Microsoft Forefront Client Security Management Console

    Easy management of Forefront Client Security.

  • Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server

    Multi-engine protection against the latest e-mail threats.

  • Microsoft Forefront Security for SharePoint

    Protection and control for collaboration servers.

  • Microsoft Forefront Server Security Management Console

    Easy management of Forefront Security for Exchange Server, Forefront Security for SharePoint, and Microsoft Antigen.

  • Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2006

    Integrated edge security gateway that helps protect IT environments from Internet-based threats while providing users with fast and secure remote access to applications and data.

The following product is offered on a perpetual basis, with a server license and a client access license (CAL):

  • Microsoft Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG) 2007

    Comprehensive, secure remote access gateway that provides secure socket layer (SSL)-based application access and protection with endpoint security management.

 Forefront Licensing Suites

Microsoft offers Forefront security products in three different licensing suites to meet your IT protection needs. 

  1. The Forefront Security Suite is for customers who want the full breath of protection offered by the Forefront family of products.  Forefront Security Suite includes all of the Forefront subscription products, as well as Exchange Hosted Filtering.

  2. The Microsoft Enterprise Client Access License (CAL) Suite brings together 11 of the latest Microsoft products to provide your organization the newest innovations in compliance, real-time collaboration, security, communication, desktop management, and more. The Microsoft Enterprise CAL Suite provides an outstanding opportunity for customers to use their existing investments in the Microsoft core platform.  The Enterprise CAL Suite includes the Forefront family of products as well as Exchange Hosted Filtering.

  3. The Exchange Enterprise CAL Suite is the best choice for enterprises looking for a security solution specifically for their Exchange environment.  This offering includes Forefront Security for Exchange Server, Exchange Hosted Filtering, as well as other server CALs and technologies.
